Construction Engineering Management - Faculty Position

A tenure-track assistant/associate professor position in construction engineering management is available beginning January or August 2009 in the Civil Engineering Department at Lawrence Technological University. Lawrence Tech is strategically located in the largest construction market in Michigan, with opportunities for faculty involvement with major construction projects, firms and organizations. Applicants should have an earned doctorate in construction engineering or a closely related field, and preferably, experience in the construction industry. The department offers state-of-the-art facilities for research in a variety of areas. The department recently received research contracts from the Army Research Laboratory, HUD, US-DOT, and NSF totaling some $6 million to construct the Center for Innovative Materials Research (CIMR) and conduct research and investigations.

Successful candidate is expected to be enthusiastic and inspired teachers of undergraduate and graduate courses in construction engineering management. Job responsibilities include participation in curriculum development with a focus on the design and management of the construction engineering process, pursuit of applied research and/or industry partnerships to foster the integration of innovative technologies into the curriculum, service to the University, and graduate student advising.
