The National Concrete Canoe Competition is a competition sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). ASCE student chapters from colleges and universities around the country design, fabricate, build, display and race a full scale canoe made completely of concrete. This year the ASCE regional competition was held at Ohio Northern University on March 30- April 1. Eighteen regional competitions are conducted across the United States; Winners of conference competitions, then compete in a national competition at University of Nevada Reno on June 14-16, where teams compete for recognition and scholarship opportunities. Teams work hard in an effort to exemplify the skills and abilities necessary to be successful in the disciplines of civil engineering. This year our Lawrence Tech Concrete Canoe Team aspires to represent the LTU ASCE student organization, students, alumni and faculty to the utmost of our abilities. Please support your LTU concrete canoe team, all year round, as we strive to instill pride in our organization and community. This year our theme was representative of the perseverance of the industries and people of the Detroit Metro area. Thank-You for your support.
