Transfer Procedure

A maximum of 6 semester hours for graduate engineering courses taken at other accredited engineering colleges may be transferred, provided they are deemed relevant by the Engineering Graduate Admissions Committee. Courses to be transferred must have been taken within the past five years and a grade of “B” (3.00) or better must have been achieved. The student should petition the Engineering Graduate Admissions Committee by letter prior to completion of the first semester of graduate work. The student must submit evidence in addition to transcripts in the form of syllabi and examinations for each transfer course proposed. The Committee may require the applicant to demonstrate proficiency in the subject through interviews with faculty members who have expertise in the subject.

Up to 6 credits from other departments at the University can be applied towards their Master of Civil Engineering with the approval of the graduate advisor. In addition, graduate students are allowed to apply up to 6 credits of 4000-level civil engineering courses (senior-level electives) to their Masters Degree with the approval of the graduate advisor.
