"Statistical Distributions: Discrete and Continuous"

Dr. Abro is an internationally educated Faculty member. He studied at the University of Baghdad to earn a Bachelor degree in Statistics. He holds a graduate diploma from the United Nation’s supported institute of Planning in the Middle East. He went to the University of Wales (University College of Swansea) in the UK for his Masters Degree in Statistics and to Belgium where he was granted a Ph.D in applied Mathematics from the Universite Catholique De Louvain.

He also has international academic experience, he held the position of assistant Professor at Al Mustansiria University in Baghdad, work as a regional expert for the United Nation’s supported Arab institute of Statistics, a position that allowed him to teach in several countries of the Middle East.

Before he joined LTU he served as a Math Program Leader at Focus: HOPE where he was leading the effort of a team from LTU, UDM and WSU to design the math program for the Greenfield coalition for manufacturing engineering education. Dr. Abro also served as an adjunct Faculty at LTU, UDM, WSU and Oakland Community College.

He is also involved in community services, where he led a verity of Educational activities through the Chaldean Federation of America. Dr. Abro is the Founder and the current president of the Mesopotamian American Graduate Association (MAGA). He is married to Ann who is a preschool Educator, has a daughter Hadeel who is a math teacher at Troy Public Schools and pursuing her Ph.D. at WSU. He also has a son, Fadi who is a senior ME student at LTU.

Bob Doering has been in the quality field for over 16 years. He is currently a quality engineer for an automotive component manufacturing firm. He has industrial experience for over 34 years, many of which were in precision machining of automotive and medical components. He is an adjunct instructor at Lorain County Community College in Engineering Technology and Enrollment Services departments, and has lectured classes in Metrology and Quality Management. He holds associates degrees from Lorain County Community College of Elyria, Ohio and The University of Akron of Akron, Ohio; BA in Business and MBA in Systems Management from Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio. He holds CMQ/OE, CQE, CQA, CMI (ASQ) certifications. He has implemented the CorrectSPC concepts in precision machining for over 10 years with significant success.

"Case Studies on Hypothesis Testings and Confidence Intervals"

Ahad Ali is an Associate Professor, and Director of Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems (MEMS) and Master in Science in Industrial Engineering (MSIE) in the A. Leon Linton Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Lawrence Technological University, Michigan, USA. He is the Director of Smart Manufacturing and Lean Systems Research Group. Dr Ali has done research projects with Chrysler, Ford, DTE Energy, Delphi Automotive System, GE Medical Systems, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, International Truck and Engine Corporation (ITEC), National/Panasonic Electronics, New Center Stamping, Rockwell Automation, and Whelan Co. His research interests include manufacturing, simulation, optimization, reliability, scheduling, manufacturing, and lean. He has published journal and conference papers. Dr. Ali is the founder and conference chair of the 2015 International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) at Hyatt Regency Dubai, March 3-5, 2015. He is member of IIE, INFORMS, SME, IEOM Society and IEEE. He earned B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh, Masters in Systems and Engineering Management from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and PhD in Industrial Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

"Using SPC in Continuous Improvement"

Steve Sibrel is a business process improvement trainer, coach and auditor with over 35 years of experience in the business and manufacturing world. He is currently working as Principal Supplier Quality Engineer at Harman International, a manufacturer of audio and infotainment systems for consumer, professional, and automotive industries, with well-known brands such as JBL, Lexicon, Crown, Infinity, Mark Levinson, Becker and Harman-Kardon. Previously he held a number of engineering and management positions in diverse industries at Applied Materials (Semiconductor), NEC (Telecommunications) and Texas Instruments (Military). He has conducted over 200 supplier audits in North America, Europe, and Asia and is a Lead Auditor for ISO/TS16949, ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO17025, and 21CFR820. He has been the Chair for Professional Development for the ASQ Detroit section since 2008. He received the Distinguished Service Award in 2008 and the Leadership Award in 2013 from ASQ. Current ASQ Certifications held are Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Engineer, Quality Inspector, Quality Auditor, and Manager of Quality/ Organizational Excellence. He is an adjunct facility member at Macomb Community College. Steve has a BSEE degree from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology and an MSEE degree from Southern Methodist University.

Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq Hussain is Adjunct Faculty in Lawrence Tech University. He earned his Doctoral of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems (DEMS) and Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering (MEMS) Degrees in May 2008 from Lawrence Tech University, Michigan, USA. He also earned Master of Science in Quality from Eastern Michigan University in 2003. Dr. Hussain is a certified DFSS Black Belt from General Motors University and CMI from ASQ. He is currently working in General Motors Corporation Headquarter in Powertrain division in USA. Dr. Hussain has expert level knowledge in the following disciplines.

Jd Marhevko is the Vice President of Quality, Lean and EHS Systems for Accuride Corporation.  She is a business and operational excellence executive with over 25 years of operations, QA and lean experience in a variety of industries including Automotive, Aerospace, Plastics and Machining.  Jd is an ASQ Fellow, a Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and a Certified Six Sigma Blackbelt (CSSBB).  She is also a trained Master Black Belt (MBB).  Jd has been a senior Baldrige System assessor for the state of Michigan for several years.  She holds a Bachelors of Science in Engineering (BSE) from Oakland University in Michigan and a Master’s of Science Administration (MSA) from Central Michigan University.  Jd is a Past-Chair of ASQ’s Quality Management Division (QMD), a 24,000 member global professional organization.
