Wimba and MAC OS X (Lion) Java Incompatibility Issues

Mac OS X (Lion) does not come with Java WebStart (JWS) pre-installed.  When users encounter an application requiring Java if issues occur the below link has the download information for the release that installs Java SE 6 version 1.6.0_26 since OS X Lion does not provide a Java runtime by default.

Wimba and PC Java Issues

Wimba audio/talk/video issues (PC) may be a Java version issue.A possible conflict in Java versions installed may cause issues with audio and video in Wimba -- even when the Wizard finishes successfully.

Suggested resolution:

• Uninstall Java

• Windows Start, Control Panel; Installed Programs; find and uninstall all versions of Java.

• Download and reinstall the latest version of Java from Java website

Once Java re-installed strongly suggest that you clear out browser cached settings

From Firefox:

• Select Tools;
• Clear Recent History; click the arrow to show Details
•  Check options for Browsing, Forms, Cookies, Cache
•  Click Clear Now
