Classroom Archiving (Recording)
Capturing classroom activity and making it available for review and reuse. Record the audio, video, chat, whiteboard and application sharing in an online class or capture an offline lecture.

Best Practice -- ARCHIVING /RECORDED SESSIONS:

Select the following options:

Automatically Open New Archives (archives are by default set to "open")

Access Settings (expand by clicking the >); place a check mark in the "Enable Guest Access" (creates a web link that can be used in emails; backup or in future/other Blackboard courses)

How Do I Set Up a Live Classroom?

  • Log into Blackboard Course
  • Select Course Tools; select Wimba Classroom; Create Room
  • Type in a name (e.g., Chapter 5 Review session)
  • Select (check) Enable Guest Access this will provide a URL that can then be email or added to another course or semester

How Do I Share Access to an Archived (Recorded) Wimba Session in Blackboard?

Create Wimba Classrooms for Groups in Blackboard

Create a menu tab; e.g., Wimba Groups for easy access by students; then use this menu tab to set up a Wimba classroom for each group:

  • Select  "Add Interactive Tool"; "Wimba Classroom"; "Create Room". On the Create Room options page
  • Type in room name; select "Presentation tools are available to to both students and instructor"; select option to "Automatically Open New Archives";
  • Select the clcik Submit

Now that room(s) are created need to add a Wimba Classroom Blackboard  link:

  • Select the group room(s) created above
  • On the Add Link: Wimba Classroom page; select (highlight)  the room(s) created above and click Submit
  • Select desired options and click Submit

Will need to create a Wimba classroom for each group
