Blackboard Issues

Blackboard Down Time - Friday October 23 through Sunday October 25

In order to perform some critical system maintenance and prepare for an upcoming major Banner upgrade, Lawrence Tech's Blackboard system will be down from approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday, October 23rd until Sunday, October 25th at noon.

Internet Explorer 8

Internet Explorer 8 is not a Blackboard supported browser; there are known compatibility problems with Internet Explorer 8 and Blackboard. We recommend that you use only supported browsers Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2, or Safari 3, especially when taking tests.  However, if you MUST use Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 8 currently provides a "compatibility view" that may correct some issues. The link Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility Issues details how to enable the "Compatibiity View" setting that may correct the issues experienced when students take exams or tests in Blackboard or problems when submitting assignments:

Exams, Tests, Quizzes
Exams that have the timer feature enabled display the timer that covers the Save and Submit buttons. 

Assignment Submission
When attempting to upload an assignment or enter grades the error message "Please enter a valid file" is displayed

Pop-Up Blockers

Some pop-up blocker software may cause Blackboard discussion board areas and Wimba Live Classroom sessions to not work properly.
