Overview of Impatica for PowerPoint

Impatica for PowerPoint is a software application that compresses large PowerPoint presentations to be seamlessly delivered in Blackboard. Impatica for PowerPoint extracts the various multimedia elements and converts them into a more efficient format for web delivery.

  • Makes it easy to add and deliver fully narrated and animated PowerPoint presentations to your Blackboard course
  • Simply converts the PowerPoint file into a compressed format that is optimized for streaming over the Internet

Impaticized compressed files consist of:

  • filename.zip (this is the zip archive that contains all of the required files for playback of your impaticized presentation). The zipped archive contains:
  • filename-imp.html (this is the HTML file viewers will access and is created by Impatica for PowerPoint to play the converted PowerPoint presentation)
  • filename-imp.jar (this is the converted PowerPoint presentation)
  • ImPlayer402.jar (the Impatica player file) and html viewer file

There are three main steps involved in creating a presentation with Impatica for PowerPoint:

1. Create PowerPoint presentation

2. Impaticize the presentation

3. Upload the Impatica files to Blackboard
