Lawrence Tech University subscribes to Google Apps for Education. Google Apps provides email, calendaring, and collaboration services for Educational Institutions. It includes:

Accessing LTU Gmail (webmail)

Confirm your username by logging into Banner Web. Click on Personal Information, then View Email Address(es). Your username is listed under Campus Email Address.

Navigate to

  1. Enter your email and your initial (default) password which is your 8-digit birth date in MMDDYYYY format.
  2. On the next screen, create a new password, select the language, type the text shown in the security image in the input box, read the terms and conditions, and then click “I accept. Create my account button.”
  3. For your own security, create a password that’s hard to guess. The password strength indicator will be completely green if you choose a strong password.

Google Drive

Google Drive lets you store and access your files anywhere -- on the web, on your hard drive, or on the go. Now your files go everywhere you do. Change a file on the web, on your computer, or on your mobile device and it updates on every device where you have installed Google Drive. Share, collaborate, or work alone: your files, your choice.

Google Calendar is an Internet calendar that lets you keep track of your own events and share your calendars with others. It's the ideal tool for managing both departmental and individual schedules. It is both simple to use and very powerful.

Google Social Apps


Google+ is a social media tool that introduces new ways for our community to connect and communicate with each other. You can create your Google+ profile at and using your LTU email address ( and password.

Google+ is outside the core suite of Google Apps services and is currently not covered by the Google Apps support guidelines for Lawrence Tech. However, you can find assistance through the links listed below.

Google TalkGoogle Talk

Google Talk is an easy service you can use to make voice calls, to send instant messages, to transfer files, and to leave voicemail messages for others. This download-able Windows application makes real-time communications simple and intuitive.

Google HangoutsGoogle Hangouts

Google Hangouts let users connect and communicate with others in multi-user "virtual" rooms. Hangouts let you share your computer screen so other people in the hangout can see what’s on your screen. You can choose to share any open window on your computer. You can also share Google Drive files and collaborate to write meeting notes or draw on a shared whiteboard.

 LTU Gmail on your Android

 How to set up LTU Gmail on your Android

 From the Android Home screen, tap on the Gmail icon.

Enter your LTU email address and password, then tap on Manual setup.


Select IMAP account

IMAP account

On the next screen, enter your User name, password (For Incoming server settings).

IMAP Server:

Port: 993

Security type: SSL

Tap on next

On the next screen, (For Outgoing server settings).

SMTP Server:

Port: 587

Security type: TLS

Tap on next

Select the Email check frequency and tap on next.

Finally, name the account and input your display name.

Tap on Done

Now you can check your LTU Gmail from Android.


LTU Gmail on your iphone

How to set up LTU Gmail and Google Calendar on your iPhone. 

Tap Settings

Scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.


Tap Add Account

Tap Google

tap google

Now enter the name you want email recipients to see, along with your LTU email address and password. Type LTU Gmail for the description, or another name that identifies this from any other Gmail account. Tap next at the top.


Now you have the option to sync Gmail contacts, calendars and notes as well as email. Tap Save.
