Getting Started with Blackboard

BlackboardTM is a web-based Course Management System and one of the most useful teaching tools currently available for educators and students at Lawrence Technological University. Creation, organization, and management of course content in Blackboard allows information to be shared across colleges, departments and students using the Internet thereby bringing together a set of tools, functions, and features to facilitate learning for all of our students at Lawrence Tech.

Blackboard is located at my.ltu.edu. The more familiar you become with Blackboard the more you realize how it will enhance and streamline tasks for both instructors and students. eLearning Support is pleased to provide Blackboard training and support documentation (both PDF format and short flash videos) to assist both instructors and students in this task. Choose a menu from the left to access additional resources and printable "how to" PDFs for both faculty and students.

If you have not used Blackboard before make sure that you click on "Test Your Browser" on the main Blackboard log in screen. This will check to ensure that you have Required Components; Optional Components; Popup Alerts and common filetypes used by Blackboard.
