How Do I Take A Test in My Blackboard Course?

Avoid Problems Before Taking Test in Blackboard

HELP! I am in the test and the navigation buttons are covered - I cannot select Next; Save; or Submit? 

This is an IE 8 issue. Internet Explorer 8 is not a Blackboard supported browser; there are known compatibility problems with Internet Explorer 8 and Blackboard. We recommend that you use only supported browsers Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2+, or Safari 3, especially when taking tests. 

However, if you MUST use Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 8 currently provides a "compatibility view" that may correct some issues.  If you have to use this method (please remember this method may not work), you will need to configure Internet Explorer 8 for Compatibility View BEFORE taking the test (see  Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility Issues under Blackboard Getting Started Blackboard Issues).  LTU recommends that you use a supported browser.

If you do not realize you have a problem until you are in the test.  Here are two possible solutions to fix the issue while in the test:

1. Go to View; Style; No Style  (the page will look funny but you can use the buttons)

2. Go to Tools; Compatibility View (this will change the timer to its original small state in the corner)
