Policies & Procedures
System privileges are granted to Lawrence Tech faculty, staff, and students in support of IT Services' mission: linking theory and practice with advanced learning technologies to provide a superior learning experience. These privileges include use of computing systems and software, email accounts, laptops and personal computers, the Internet, printer access, access to network drives, university telephones, and internal and external data networks.
Please read these policies carefully.
Password Policy Changes
Starting with the IT Maintenance on March 12, 2011 there will be policy changes in password requirements for new accounts and when passwords are changed. The following systems will be affected:
Email: The minimum password length requirement for Gapps accounts will be increased from 6 characters to 8 because of a change in Google Apps password policy and to meet audit standards. Existing users can keep their current password but will be required to comply when changing their password for the first time following the policy change. Email passwords currently do not expire.
Banner Forms: Banner forms account passwords will work in a similar way as Email except due to audit compliance they will expire every 90 days. The revised password parameters will not take effect until they expire. Most students will not be impacted by this change since most just use BannerWeb.
BannerWeb - Blackboard - Network Login: Existing accounts will not see any change.
