Interested in technology, design, or science? LawrenceTechnological University offers you a variety of camps run by professors who will introduce you to the latest innovations in modern labs and studios using state-of-the-art equipment. And, what’s more, you can choose to make these day camps residential and experience college life first hand. You’ll live in student housing, eat in Café Lawrence, and participate each evening in a fun selection of organized activities.
Automotive Design Camp
June 21-26, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., $500 day camp/$665 residential -
Automotive Camp registration closed on June 17th, 2009 at 12pm. No late registrations will be accepted.
Do you have a talent for drawing and a passion for styling cars? In this camp, you'll learn about the design and development of concept cars, create ideation sketches, and experiment with scale modeling. You'll see professional demonstrations and receive individual evaluations of your work. Scholarships can be awarded to top student designers!

Architecture and Interior Design Camp
June 22-26, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., $500 day camp/$665 residential -
Architecture Camp registration closed on June 17th, 2009 at 12pm. No late registrations will be accepted.
Have fun while you learn what skills are needed in the architecture and interior design fields. You'll visualize space and form, draw plans, make models, and select furniture and colors. You'll also meet with professional architects and interior designers.

Imaging and Graphic Design Camp
June 22-26, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., $500 day camp/$665 residential -
Imaging Camp registration closed on June 17th, 2009 at 12pm. No late registrations will be accepted.
Develop your artistic skills as you find out what it takes to be a graphic designer. You'll create artwork for computer games,
cartoons, and advertising layouts. Sketching, photography, computer-based graphics, and animation will be featured.
Forensic Summer Science Institute (For Sophomores and Juniors)
Registration is now closed. No late applications will be accepted.
Session 1: June 29-July 3, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Session 2: July 6-10, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
$390 day camp/$550 residential (fee includes a $200 nonrefundable registration fee)
If you are a highly motivated student proficient in biology, chemistry, and physics, the Forensic Summer Science Institute is the camp for you. You will be given a crime scenario, which you'll solve using state-of-the-art lab equipment to explore DNA fingerprinting, drug testing, hair and fiber analysis, ballistics, gunshot-residue testing, and blood detection using fluorescence analysis.
Gaming Camp
Gaming Camp registrations will be accepted until June 25, 2009 at noon. No late registrations will be accepted.
June 29-July 3, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., $550 day camp/$650 residential
In this intensive program, you'll focus on the dynamic world of video game development. You'll learn the concepts of game design and the basics of 3D graphics production, including modeling, texturing, and animating. You'll be required to play games and will create your own mini-game portfolio.
Autonomous Robotics Camp
Robotics Camp registrations will be accepted until July 2, 2009 at noon. No late registrations will be accepted.
July 6-10, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., $500 day camp/$600 residential
Assemble Lawrence Tech's laptop robot, L2Bot, complete with a webcam. You'll explore introductory concepts in autonomous robotics navigation, image processing, computer vision, and voice recognition while learning the basics of object-orientated Java programming. Some knowledge of a programming language is helpful, but not required. After the camp, you'll be able to participate in the Collegiate Robofest Mini Urban Challenge in December 2009 and spring 2010. Biotechnology Camp
Biotechnology Camp registrations will be accepted until July 23, 2009 at noon. No late registrations will be accepted.
Any student previously registered for the Biomedical Engineering Camp can join this Biotechnology Camp!
July 27-31, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., $550 day camp/$650 residential
In a research lab setting, you'll genetically engineer bacteria, purify and quantify proteins, and learn how to clone genes. You'll apply modern DNA profiling techniques to solve crimes and use hi-tech tools to diagnose diseases and track infectious outbreaks. Your days will be filled with hands-on experimentation with just enough theory and background to make the experience meaningful.
