8:30 - 9 a.m.   Welcome Session

9 a.m. - Noon   Workshop Session I
                         Introduction to two- and three-dimensional drawing and model building.
                         Instruction focused on developing sketching skills, drawing techniques,
                         and physical model building.
                         Overview of successful integrated approach to interior design and
                         architecture.

Noon - 1 p.m.   Lunch break

1 - 5 p.m.   Design Studio Session I
                  Overview of the design process with a concentration on schematic design.
                  Introduction to the design project.
                  Introduction to the interior programming process.       
                  Discussion about the use and function of space and the development of 
                  space from the inside out.

Tuesday
8:30 a.m. - Noon  Workshop Session II 
                             Development of two- and three-dimensional drawings based on a
                             study model and development of model building skills. Introduction
                             to scaled drawings.

Noon - 1 p.m.   Lunch break

1 - 5 p.m.   Design Studio Session II
                  Schematic design development through a series of "charettes"
                  (design sketch exercises).

Wednesday
8:30 a.m. - Noon  Design Studio Session III
                             Project design development with a study model.
    
Noon - 1 p.m.   Lunch break

1 - 5 p.m.   Design Studio Session IV - Interior Design
                  Introduction to interior elevation drawings and spatial  concepts.
                  Space planning, color, texture, light, balance, rhythm, scale.
                  Full-scale floor plan drawings in chalk -outdoors.  

Thursday
8:30 - 10 a.m.   Workshop Session III
                         Freehand sketching from observation.

10 a.m. - Noon  Design Studio Session V
                         Project design development with a study model.       
                         Construction of floor plan, elevations, and section.
                         Interior finish and furniture selections.
       
Noon - 1 p.m.   Lunch

1 - 3 p.m.   Visit to the Affleck House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

3 - 5 p.m.   Design Studio Session VI - Interior Design
                  Materials and interior finish and furnishings presentation boards.

Friday
8:30 - 10 a.m.   Workshop Session IV
                         Freehand sketching from observation.

10 a.m. - Noon  Design Studio Session VII
                          Construction of presentation drawings; floor plan, elevations, and section.
                          Interior finish keys and schedules, how to talk about interior concepts
                          and design solutions.
    
Noon - 1 p.m.   Lunch

1 - 3 p.m.   Design Studio Session VIII
                  Construction of presentation drawings; floor plan, elevations and section.

3 - 5 p.m.   Final presentation.
