Baja SAE Updates

 We have four more months to go until the competition starts. Using Solidworks, we designed a chassis and will have the parts ready in by next week. During the past few months, we also started designing the body panels of our Baja Buggy that was both form fitting and stylish. Thanks to our sponsor, we are able to have the shape exactly in the shape of our CAD.
Though, we needed to take a brief break on the car to prepare for the autoshow where we exhibited last year’s vehicle at our booth. Starting now, the team will be spending a lot of late nights to get the 2013 Baja Buggy ready for the competition in April. |

This past week, we held a Grand Prix and invited other schools to race against us using the previous year’s vehicle. Our team also appeared on the school’s homecoming soccer game riding across the field. We have the basic chassis formed and some body panels created in Solidworks. There have been numerous team meetings up to this point, and with everyone caught up, we are really hitting the ground running with creating our vehicle. Some of the preliminary sketches have been put up. Suspension is coming along. Currently we are training our newer members on all the components of the suspension system and are working on getting companies to help donate some parts to get the suspension together.
