Intramural Sports

Tech Rec intramurals for men and women are scheduled throughout the school year in volleyball, flag football, basketball, indoor soccer, softball, racquetball, wallyball, billiards, tennis, badminton, dodge ball, and table tennis. Fitness classes, weight training instruction, and intramural leagues and tournaments are available to students at no charge.

Club Sports

The Men’s Ice Hockey
The 2007–08 season marked the second season under Coach Kevin Gee. The team had a successful 18–13 record and ended the season ranked seventh in the North Region of the American Collegiate Hockey Association, Division III. The team had six Academic All-Americans to go along with many other awards, including Second Team All-American and First Team All-Conference. The team looks forward to this season as they have made it a goal to compete in the National Tournament in Rochester, NY.

Men’s Soccer
The 2007 season was the 16th year of intercollegiate club soccer at Lawrence Tech. Coaches Nathan Johnson and Taylor Bohannon return to lead the team. Practices are twice a week, and 10 weekend games are scheduled for the season. A mandatory informational meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27; tryouts begin August 28.

Women’s Volleyball
The women’s club volleyball team will begin their second year of competition. The team practices twice a week and competes on the weekends in a variety of tournaments around the state.

Co-Ed Curling
The curling team is entering its fifth year of collegiate competition in the fall of 2008. The student-run team practices on Sundays at the Detroit Curling Club in Ferndale. The team competes annually in the Great Lakes Curling Regional Tournament and the National Collegiate Curling Championship in Chicago.

Men’s Cricket
The Lawrence Tech Cricket Club is a second year member of the Michigan Cricket Association. The team competes in the Division 2, 20-Overs League, on weekends, June through September.
