In this project Meagan Richardson-Frazzitta will work on a variety of projects pertaining to various subjects within the field of Orthopaedics at Beaumont Hospital. In the first few months of her project, she will be cleaning, classifying, and analyzing failed orthopedic implants/devices, and becoming acquainted with the lab. Following this, she will be participate in studies on improving orthopedic devices by discovering and repairing their flaws, and even designing new devices. Once she becomes well acquainted with the study and design process, she become a main contact for studies with the guidance of the staff in the lab. She will gain valuable experience in public relations, analytical skills, the engineering design processes, working in orthopedics, and much more. This experience will give Meagan a cutting edge when seeking employment near graduation.
