Dr. Schneider mostly teaches the University Physics courses and labs, Contemporary Physics, Introduction to Astronomy, and Analytical Mechanics. He has been teaching at LTU since 1992.

Dr. Scott grew up in Poughkeepsie NY. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester NY. His PhD in Physics came from the University at Albany, in Albany NY.

During his summers in grad school, Dr. Scott worked at deaf-youth summer camp in the Adirondacks (upstate NY). From that experience, he made connections that brought him to Michigan (he also has a brother and an uncle here).

A chance experience in "star trail photography" lead Dr. Scott to photography as a hobby (mostly landscape nature photography). He has dabbled with film, but is now currently digital, and experimenting with IR (infrared) filters. He is particularly interested in "patterns in nature" and photographing "textures" in the natural world.
