Dr. Crist joined the Lawrence Technological University Chemistry faculty in 1968. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in inorganic chemistry from the Ohio State University.
His teaching responsibilities involve chemistry major courses in Advanced Synthesis and Advanced Inorganic Chemistry. He also regularly teaches University Chemistry 1 and 2, and the Honors University Chemistry 1 Laboratory. He is the faculty advisor of the Student Affiliate Chapter of the American Chemical Society.
Dr. Crist has been directing Lawrence Tech’s academic scholarship program as chairman of the Scholarship Committee since 1972. His committee oversees the awarding of academic scholarships to all students as they enter the University and all scholarship awards made to current on-campus students. He is faculty advisor of the University’s honor society, Lambda Iota Tau.
He has served the University as past chairman of the Chemistry Department from 1980 until 1989, as chairman of the Natural Sciences Department from 1989 until 1992, and as Interim Dean of Students from 2000 through 2002.
