Professor Shaba has an Associate in Business administration and a Bachelor in Computer Information System from Detroit College of Business. She has then gone on to receiving her Master of Science in Administration/Software Engineering from Central Michigan University.  Professor Shaba has over ten years of diversified working experience in the computer field, as well as training, customer service, testing services, management, and project coordination.

Professor Shaba has a background in; managing family owned used car dealerships, working in the computer field at Electronic Data System (EDS), developing adapters using Java Programming Language as a Software Engineer at Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), working as a Test Specialist and Consultant Specialist holding responsibility for software testing, CORES Ballpark Estimation, and project coordination at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). She currently holds a part-time position in the Mathematics and Computer Science department at Lawrence Technological University teaching the Introduction to Computer Applications course.
