Ms. Kate Broughton

Ms. Broughton graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts.  Prior to studying at the University of Michigan, Ms. Broughton was in the International Training Program at Marlboro College in Vermont.

After graduation, Ms. Broughton taught EFL (English as a Foreign Language) in Japan for three years as part of the Japanese English Teaching Program (JET program), and Monbusho, the Japanese Ministry of Education. Ms. Broughton taught EFL at three junior high schools, six elementary schools and one private high school in Fukui Prefecture. Ms. Broughton also volunteered at two junior high school English summer camps and one senior high school summer camp.

Ms. Broughton was on the panel of judges for a Prefectural Speech Contest. In 2002, Ms. Broughton presented a lecture at the Prefectural JET Program meeting on the topic of Improving Work Relations in the International Workplace.  

Ms. Broughton areas of study include Biology, Chemistry and Biotechnology. Ms. Broughton has also studied Japanese, Spanish, and Italian. Ms. Broughton is terrible in sports, but enjoy yoga and kickboxing. Ms. Broughton like movies and dancing to music.  Ms. Broughton also likes to travel.
