Prof. Jennifer Mercier

Coordinator, Student Leadership Development

Lawrence Technological University has a unique Leadership Curriculum required of all students.  I am responsible for scheduling and implementation of the Leadership Seminar Series focused on providing value-added information for students to build upon their leadership skills.  In addition, I am responsible for the tracking and approval of the Leadership Transcripts, a valuable tool for students to supplement to their resume and academic transcript, setting them above the crowd with their leadership experience. I am also pursuing the challenge of increasing community awarness of the excellent leadership program LTU offers.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and an MBA from Saginaw Valley State University.  I have over 20 years of business experience in both manufacturing and service industries, of which many positions included mentoring, leadership analysis, training and performance improvement.  My interest in the Leadership Curriculum at LTU stems from the belief that leadership can be learned and these skills are critical in today’s competitive economic environment.

I am married and have 3 sons, one of which is a recent LTU grad.  I am active in the schools and church with my younger sons’ activities.  I enjoy skiing, water sports, walking my dog and pretty much anything that involves spending time with my husband and children and watching my kids participate in sports.  I hope to travel Europe in the next decade.
