Eric Michael Washington, born and raised in New Orleans, LA. He was educated in the parochial school system there and graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1986. Sticking with Catholic education, Mr. Washington earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1990.

From there he earned a Master's degree in History from Miami University in 1993. Currently he is writing a dissertation on Black Baptists and mission work in South Africa. In addition to teaching at Lawrence Tech, Mr. Washington also teaches at Calvin College.
