Dr. Meyrowitz teaches American History, 19th and 20th century European History, 20th century Global History, international relations, nuclear weapons and international security, and international law.  His research interests include the effect of the military tactics used in Viet Nam by the United States on the evolution and development of the international humanitarian law of armed conflict and the lessons of Viet Nam that have been assimilated by foreign policy decision-makers and the American citizens since the end of the Viet Nam War.

His educational experience includes a Ph.D, J.D, M.A., and B.A.  He first obtained his B.A., with honors, in Political Science from the University of North Carolina in 1971.  Soon after he earned his M.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975.  Dr. Meyrowitz also achieved his Ph.D. in History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986.  His J.D. was awarded by Rutgers University School of Law(Newark) in 1979.

In addition to teaching as an adjunct professor at LTU, Dr. Meyrowitz has taught at the Michigan State University College of Law, Wayne State University, Oakland Community College, Macomb Community College, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University), University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Maryland in Japan. He is currently teaching courses in history, international relations and international law at LTU, MSU, WSU, OCC, and MCC.

As a result of his scholarly publications, Dr. Meyrowitz has received numerous invitations to lecture at various universities and before professional organizations in United States, Europe and Japan.

He has also served in the United States Army (1964-1967) and as a paratrooper with the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam (1965-1966).  He attended undergraduate and graduate school on the Disabled Veterans Retraining Program sponsored by the Veterans Administration.

In addition to his extensive teaching experience, Dr. Meyrowitz also has many years of legal experience in the financial services industry.  He has served as General Counsel and Managing Director for Mentor Capital Partners in Troy, MI. He was the Associate General Counsel for Michigan National Corporation in Farmington Hills, MI and also was Counsel for Bankers Trust Company in New York, NY.
