Careers in Chemical Biology

Lawrence Tech has the reputation for providing graduates who are able to contribute immediately in the workplace. The chemical biology program aims to prepare students for entry-level scientific careers in a variety of disciplines, including biomedicine, biotechnology, medical technology, molecular cell biology, and pharmaceuticals. The breadth and depth of the training also gives students the option to pursue graduate work in such fields as biochemistry, bioinformatics, cell biology, chemical biology, immunology, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, molecular genetics, neurobiology, pharmacology, and public health.

This program is especially suited to students who are preparing for advanced degrees in the health professions, including dentistry, medicine, veterinary science, optometry, and pharmacy. Lawrence Tech’s chemical biology degree will generally satisfy the prerequisites for admission to such programs. In addition, the strong preparation provided by the University’s tightly integrated core curriculum and extensive training in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology give graduates an edge in taking the entrance exams for these fields.
