Ice Cream Social
An Illustration of the Togetherness of the Campus Community

On October 16, 2007, the students, faculty and staff of the Colleges of Arts and Science and Engineering hosted an Ice Cream Social to which they invited the students, faculty and staff of the Colleges of Management and Architecture and Design. Alan McLaughlin, Director of Student Recreation, volunteered his services in arranging for the purchase of copious quantities of ice cream and other supplies to ensure that all invitees received ample portions.

The theme was the unrivalled collegiality that exists between all Colleges at LTU.  The event took place with great success in the Engineering Fireplace Lounge. It featured an Open House atmosphere since serving was done between noon and 8 p.m.  In this way, Evening students and Day students both had an opportunity to enjoy this interaction,

In order to avoid the use of University funds, the event was funded by contributions from Mrs. Sue Johnston, Dr. Bob Powell and Mrs. Mary Marburger.  Due to the success of the event, plans are being made for future gatherings of this nature.
