Inside/Out- A High School Art Competition

Inside Out

Are you a high school student in the United States or Canada with creative drive and inspiration? Do you have a passion for art and design? Are you interested in a career in art, design, or architecture?

Lawrence Tech's third annual art competition entitled Inside/Out! could earn you a scholarship to the University's College of Architecture and Design, the largest architecture school in Michigan and among the largest in the United States. The University offers degree programs in: Architecture, Game Art, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, and Transportation Design.

Your Challenge

Inside/Out! challenges aspiring artists, designers, and architects to take that which is contained and implicit, and turn it inside out.  Students are encouraged to think both formally and conceptually.

To be considered for the best of show, the students must write a 300 word artist’s statement talking about the idea development of the Inside/Out work.

Eligibility

Artists 16 years or older who are enrolled in a high school art program in the United States or Canada.

Artwork can be submitted between January 17 and April 15, 2012, to: Ali Barnard, College of Architecture and Design, Lawrence Technological University, 21000 West Ten Mile Road, Southfield, MI 48075-1058.

Media

Each piece must be labeled with the artist's name, age, and grade; title of the work; and high school name and location, high school art teacher’s name, and be accompanied by a completed entry form. Artists may submit up to three pieces each. All artwork should be no larger than 36" x 48" x 6” in size.
