Are you a high school student in the United States or Canada with creative drive and inspiration? Do you have a passion for art and design? Are you interested in a career in art, design, or architecture?
Lawrence Tech's second annual Imagine This! art competition could earn you a scholarship to the University's College of Architecture and Design, the largest architecture school in Michigan and among the largest in the United States. The University offers degree programs in: Architecture, Game Art, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, Imaging - Digital Arts, Graphic Design, and Transportation Design.
Your Challenge
Imagine what you would see in the mirror and create a "mirror image."
Eligibility
Artists 16 years or older who are enrolled in a high school art program in the United States or Canada.
Submissions
Artwork can be submitted between January 17 and midnight, April 15, 2012, to
Ali Barnard, College of Architecture and Design, Lawrence Technological University, 21000 West Ten Mile Road, Southfield, MI 48075-1058.
Media
Artwork can be created using pencil, prismacolor, ink, marker, digital media, painting, collage, photography, or in any combination of these media. All entries must be the original work of the submitting artist and suitably matted/framed with hardware (wire, hook, etc.) for display purposes. Each piece must be labeled with the artist's name, age, and grade; title of the work; and high school name and location and be accompanied by a completed entry form. Artists may submit up to three pieces each. All artwork should be no larger than 6" x 36" x 48" in size.
Judging
The panel of jurors will consist of faculty from Lawrence Tech's Center for Design and other professional artists.
Awards and Exhibit
Competition winners will be notified via email by April 20, 2012. Entries will be exhibited in a formal art show at Lawrence Technological University. An awards ceremony will be held on May 2, 2012, at 7 p.m. The Imagine This! exhibit will open the same evening and run until May 9, 2012. Lawrence Tech reserves the right to omit unsuitable material from the exhibit for any reason.
Competition Details
Complete the entry form, print it out, and sign it. Attach the form to your artwork, package your entry carefully, and deliver or mail it to Ali Barnard, College of Architecture and Design, Lawrence Technological University, 21000 West Ten Mile Road, Southfield, MI 48075-1058.

Imagine This! submissions may be used for the purpose of promotion and advertisement. No work will be sold.
Artwork will be available for pick up at Lawrence Tech after May 16, 2012. Works not picked up by June 1, 2012, will be disposed. If you would like your artwork returned to you by US mail or other carrier, include the appropriate pre-paid shipping document and materials when you send in your artwork. You are encouraged to insure the artwork you submit. Lawrence Tech takes no responsibility for loss or damage.
