Welcome to the
DEPARTMENT OF ART AND DESIGN

The department houses undergraduate programs in Interior Architecture, Imaging (Digital Arts and Digital Design), and Transportation Design as well as a graduate program in Interior Design. These programs have a commonality in their connection to the built environment and all begin with a foundation in the fine and applied arts.

Department faculty are recognized in their fields and many are in current practice in their disciplines allowing students an opportunity for involvement in real-world projects. The department shares space with the Department of Architecture in the Architecture Building and the new Technology and Learning Complex designed by internationally recognized architect, Charles Gwathmy.

The focus of the Department of Art and Design is on preparing people for careers in Interior Design, Digital Arts, Digital Design, and Transportation Design. The Department values creative problem solving and provides opportunity throughout the curriculum for collaboration within the discipline as well as with other disciplines.
