DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE

The department houses undergraduate and graduate programs in Architecture.  Both programs along with those in the Department of Art & Design, are connected to the built environment and begin with a foundation in the fine and applied arts.

Department faculty are recognized in their fields and many are in current practice in their disciplines, allowing students an opportunity for involvement in real world projects.  The department shares space with the Department of Art & Design in the Architecture Building and the new Technology and Learning complex designed by internationally recognized architect Charles Gwathmey.

The focus of the Department of Architecture is on preparing students for design and design related careers in the built environment.  The department values creative problem solving and provides opportunities for collaborative learning environments by engaging allied disciplines in the creative design process (i.e. urban planning, landscape architecture, building systems, interior architecture, lighting, applied arts, civic/government etc.).
