MASTER OF ARCHITECTURE 4+ PROGRAM
For students who have an undergraduate baccalaureate degree in a field other than architecture, but would like to pursue their Master’s of Architecture degree, LTU offers the M. Arch 4+ program. Students interested in this option must have a 3.00 or higher gpa and formally apply to the University sending their college transcripts for review. These students are admitted with graduate standing yet start by taking undergraduate core courses in architecture before they are allowed to fully engage in the graduate program.
The program includes a combination of both specific coursework from the 4 year undergraduate B.S. Arch degree (requiring at least two full years) and the established M. Arch degree. After successful completion of both the undergraduate and graduate course requirements, the degree awarded is a Master of Architecture accredited by the NAAB. Students in this program are not eligible to receive the Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree unless they step out of the M. Arch 4+ program, re-enroll as an undergraduate student and fulfill all degree requirements as stated for that program.
To complete the program, the following Lawrence Technological University courses (or their equivalent, as determined by the College of Architecture and Design) are to be completed prior to taking the required coursework as listed in the undergraduate sequence of the Track 3 program.
-
Math Analysis 2 (MCS 1224)
-
Electronic Methodologies 1 (ARC 2813)
-
Physics 1 + Lab (PHY2213 + PHY 2221)
-
Physics 2 +Lab (PHY 2223 + PHY 2231)
OR (PHY 2233 + ARC 2131 Physics for Architecture)
Any undergraduate course requirement (as listed above or included in the undergraduate portion of the program) may be satisfied with transfer credit from other colleges or universities, as determined by the College of Architecture and Design.
