ADVISING
College of Architecture and Design
LTU is home to over 700 Architecture and Design students. Effective academic advising of students is an essential part of the educational experience at LTU. The College of Architecture and Design is committed to providing quality advising to all students. To ensure timely and accurate advising, advisors assist students each semester in developing individual plans of study appropriate for their personal educational goals, understanding rules, procedures, curriculum requirements and prerequisites.
Academic advising begins with orientation and continues through the student’s academic career. Students are responsible for setting up individual meeting times each semester with their assigned advisor. Advising is particularly important to students enrolled in CoAD due to the demanding curriculum and the importance of taking the right course in the proper sequence. Meetings with advisers are confidential and individualized and are designed to provide students with the information needed for a successful academic career. When an advisor recognizes that a student is hindered by circumstances outside of the student’s control that may impact the academic career, a campus referral is provided.
Students must meet with an adviser to be cleared for registration.
