Lawrence Tech pioneered evening programs serving working adults. Most degrees can be earned entirely in the evenings or on the weekends. Part-time and evening students can also participate in student projects, such as the Formula SAE competition.

Innovative Program Initiatives
A leader in the advancement of technological education, Lawrence Tech was the first university in Michigan to develop a wireless laptop campus and was one of the first in the nation to provide undergrads powerful laptop computers, seamlessly incorporating technology into the classroom. Dr. Lewis Walker, who became Lawrence Tech’s sixth president in July 2006, has embraced this leadership role—both for the University and its students. Having served as provost and executive vice president of academic and business operations at Lawrence Tech for over 12 years, Dr. Walker is committed to making Lawrence Tech a leader in empowering students to be the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
Such a stance requires the ability to react quickly to changes in the global economy, technology, and industry. The programs
