ABOUT FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT

Frank Lloyd Wright was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin to Anna Lloyd Jones and William Cary Wright.

His Philosophy
Unity, truth, harmony, and simplicity were the basic products of Wright's philosophy. His philosophy also contained the same principle of Sullivan's in the practice of "form follows function". Wright's studio work can be seen through his patience, concentration, attention to detail, constant revision, and site memorization. Wright sometimes only visited the site once and was able to design a structure and have it blend wonderfully with its surroundings. According to many of Wright's clients and acquaintances, Wright would not allow any interference or suggestions from any of his clients. One of Wright's main philosophies was to follow the teachings of Sullivan, but to also learn from Sullivan's mistake which was to work with commercial construction. This is why Wright confined his work to mainly residential suburbs of Chicago.
