“As practicing construction managers and engineers, my instructors could relate their background to what was in the books. The opportunity to take all my classes at night allowed me to continue working. I could have gone anywhere but I wanted the concentration in construction management.”

Practicing professionals, most of whom are IFMA (International Facility Management Association) members, are involved in teaching facility management courses and participate on an active program advisory committee. All graduates are required to take a 2-year co-op program in a facilities department where they apply their theoretical knowledge to real life situations and receive mentoring from practicing professionals. B.S. in Technology Management
Linking engineering, science, and management, Lawrence Tech’s Bachelor of Science in Technology Management (BSTM) addresses the complex issues involved in planning, developing, and implementing an organization’s technological capabilities. Managing technology helps companies to shape and accomplish strategic and operational objectives. Industry leaders explain that they have engineers who understand technology, and business people who understand management. But industry lacks professionals who understand the interrelationship of those missions — technology managers. Lawrence Tech’s BSTM offers both entry-level and mid-career professionals a strong foundation in management that, coupled with the study of science, engineering, or engineering technology studies, satisfies industry needs for managers of technology.
