Plan Ahead
The key is advance planning. By beginning the planning process early with an advisor, you can obtain an undergraduate degree and — at the same time — earn graduate credit. Students in a graduate program can earn a second master’s degree, and those in the work force can return to Lawrence Tech to fulfill long-term educational goals and enhance their opportunities for advancement.
Your academic advisor can discuss the many degree combinations available.
So, how many credits are counted toward both degrees? It depends on the program — but at the graduate level generally six to nine credits (the same number as the allowable transfer credit hours).
The accelerated pace of the customized graduate program is best suited to the academically talented student. Transfer credits can come from Lawrence Tech or another graduate program and require the program director’s approval and a minimum 3.3 grade point average. You must maintain this minimum average in both programs to remain eligible for the dual count of credit hours.
